Spinal Flow Technique is a gentle holistic modality that taps into the client's own nervous system to release tension and stress.
The Spinal Flow Technique is an effective way to relieve pain, dis-ease and illness. Using 33 access points on the sacrum and cranium, your body is able to release three types of stress blockages: physical, emotional and chemical. This gentle modality creates change in the body using your body’s innate intelligence for self-healing.
What is Spinal Flow?
-
Your body is designed to protect you, always on alert to shield you from injury and pain. When it detects rising levels of cortisol and adrenaline due to stress, it interprets this as a danger. Consequently, your muscles tighten and your nervous system gears up for a "fight or flight" response, rather than the calm "rest and digest" state.
Many of us live under constant physical, chemical, and emotional stress. This persistent strain can lead to tension throughout the body and obstructions along the spine. These blockages can constrict nerves that extend from the spinal cord to every part of the body, hindering optimal function. A disrupted nervous system may result in pain, disease, and illness, with symptoms serving as indicators that prolonged stress is moving us away from a state of health.
-
Spinal Flow Therapy aims to eliminate accumulated spinal blockages and alleviate the fight-flight response. These blockages stiffen individual vertebrae, obstructing the "spinal wave." The Spinal Flow therapy communicates with the brain to locate blockages, enhance the spinal flow wave, and diminish symptoms from areas of ease. It awakens the body's remarkable self-healing wisdom and addresses physical, chemical, and emotional blockages within the spine.
-
Just as your body instinctively knows how to protect itself, it also possesses the natural ability to heal. You are endowed with an inherent wisdom that orchestrates the beating of your heart, the breathing of your lungs, the digestion of your food, the filtering of nutrients, the healing of cuts, the regeneration of cells, the mending of bones, the curing of colds, and much more. This innate intelligence goes by many names: life force, qi/chi, prana, source energy, and flow.
Spinal Flow is a technique that enhances the movement of cerebrospinal fluid, thereby boosting life force energy. This process helps release blockages, eliminate toxins, and regulate the nervous system, placing the body in an ideal state for healing and overall wellness.
-
This therapy is suitable for individuals of all ages, including newborns, pregnant women, children, teenagers, adults, the elderly, and those receiving palliative or hospice care. It is non-invasive and has no contraindications.
-
During your initial appointment, the practitioner will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your posture, palpation for spinal blockages, take before photos, review finding and discuss a treatment plan, follow by a 20 to 30-minute Spinal Flow healing session, depending on your needs.
-
Wear comfortable clothing - avoid jeans, belts, or tight-fitting undergarments.
Arrive on time - being late may result in losing precious time for your session.
Hydrate - ensure you drink enough water to flush out toxins released during your session.
Relax - treat yourself kindly and remain in tune with your body. Avoid jumping back into a hectic environment immediately after your session.
Connect - notice any shifts in your body. Activities like walking or journaling can help you assimilate the session's benefits.
-
The client should lie face down on the massage table and simply relax. Accommodations are provided for babies, expectant mothers, and clients who use wheelchairs or are bedridden.
Clients may report various sensations such as tingling, a wave-like feeling along the spine, movement, or deeper breathing. Some might even shed tears if emotional blockages are released.
The practitioner will use a gentle touch to access points on the cranium, sacrum, and tailbone. Additionally, gentle touch will be applied to the back of the thighs and feet using the hands.
During each session, the practitioner monitors the spinal flow wave and the condition of each blockage.
-
Each individual's self-healing capacity is different. Conditions that have developed over years may not vanish overnight. While some may notice significant benefits quickly, some people will require time to peel back the accumulated layers of stress.
Fortunately, healing can occur more rapidly with increased care frequency. The advised treatment plan is to begin with three sessions per week, then reduce to twice a week, and finally once a week (treatment may vary for each individual). After every twelfth session, we will reevaluate and modify the treatment as necessary.
-
Many individuals experience a sense of relaxation and reduced tension in their bodies. They notice improvements in the quality of their sleep and enhanced mental clarity. Clients often report a feeling more grounded, a deeper connection with their bodies, and an overall sense of well-being.
Sometimes, individuals may feel slightly worse before they start to feel better. Spinal Flow is free of contraindications and consistently aids your body's journey toward wellness. Healing, however, is not a straightforward process and may involve fluctuations. Any exacerbation of conditions is transient, and the emerging issues can be addressed through further sessions.
